James “Tyrone” Jeffcoat

Mr Jeffcoat is currently an independent consultant helping teams improve productivity and providing industry  insights in the Printing and Packaging industries. He also serves as COO of LCM group and Grace and Grit  Media. He is in his second term as a WOL Board Director having served as past Secretary, Vice President  and President.  

Mr Jeffcoat, started his Air Force career at the United States Air Force Academy Prep School (A-Squadron),  graduating in 1983. He would go on to receive his commission through the Air Force Academy in 1987. His  first assignment following graduation was Minority Enrollment Officer at USAFA. He would later return as an  instructor, AOC, OIC for the Way of Life Committee and Military Advisor for the Varsity Football team.  

He would serve the Air as an Intelligence officer and Planner. while serving he had many significant  accomplishments. He authored the first definitive representation of the Soviet Air Defense model, presented to  and lauded by our Allies and the National Intelligence Community, included in the National Intelligence  Estimate. While Chief of Plans for Air Mobility Command/USTRANSCOM, his creativity and initiative led to a  complete change in how strategic plans were developed cutting their development time by 80%, while allowing  for more tailored and accurate information for warfighters. He co-authored the Air Force Theater Battle  Management Master Plan for Intelligence. While deployed to JTF-SWA, Iraqi No Fly Zone enforcement as  Chief of Intelligence, he developed a predictive model on Iraqi flight activity and was awarded the Col James  Rowe Award for Military Excellence. After leaving active duty in 1998, he was recalled post 9/11 to develop  the Intelligence Concept of Operations for USNORTHCOM.  

In his commercial career he has served as an operations leader in the Printing and Packaging Industries,  working for some of the biggest companies in the respective industries, RR Donnelley and Graphic Packaging  International. He has led multiple turnarounds and is known for his ability to connect with all levels of an  organization.  

He holds an International Board Director Competency Designation (IBDC.D) through M. A. Pfister Strategy  Group, is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, earned MBA and MA from Webster University. He is a member of the  United States Air Force Academy Sports Hall of Fame and the Colorado Springs Sports Hall of Fame

WOL’s Primary focus is to increase the pool of qualified minority cadets and to provide counsel to its cadets and graduates. WOL places special emphasis on diversity and ensuring the success of future USAFA cadets, current USAFA cadets, and its graduates.
