Nambia M. Fagan is a highly accomplished military and financial management professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the United States Air Force and various federal agencies. Currently serving as Comptroller/Commander for the Air National Guard, she directs financial management policies for a large installation, overseeing dissimilar geographically separated units. Nambia holds statutory authority and responsibility as the Assistant United States Property and Fiscal Officer for Air (Fiscal), ensuring the proper obligation, accounting, and disbursement of all Federal funds allocated to the installation. She serves as the principal financial advisor to senior leadership, contributing to critical decisions and objectives.
Before her current role, Nambia served as a Budget Officer for the Air National Guard, providing strategic guidance on the management of appropriated funds and supporting the accomplishment of unit missions. She also held a position with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, where she managed the budget and financial activities for the Atlanta Field Division.
Nambia’s career has spanned numerous key financial roles, including Budget Analyst for the National Park Service, where she managed significant storm damage programs for the Southeast Region and served as a liaison for 65 National Parks. Her experience also includes managing group funding and contracts as a Budget Analyst for the United States Air Force, as well as handling civilian pay processing and supporting base personnel in civilian pay matters.
In her early career, Nambia served as a Military Officer with the United States Air Force, where she managed and analyzed group and squadron budgets and oversaw the distribution of funds during the Global War on Terrorism. Additionally, she served as the Assistant Regional Director of Admissions, developing minority officer accession sources and conducting market analyses to attract quality candidates for Air Force ROTC and the United States Air Force Academy.
Nambia holds a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from Air University and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy. She is also certified in Financial Management at Levels 2 and 3. With her extensive background in financial management and leadership, Nambia continues to make significant contributions to both the military and federal sectors.
